The culture dish which has the sperm and the egg is places in an incubator to maintain the temperature, gaseous and humidity to ensure the healthy development of the embryos.
Embryo transfer and conception: The embryos kept in the incubator are examined to select the best ones, which is then transferred to the prospective mother. This is a painless procedure performed under intravenous sedation. The process in which the catheter is used to place the fertilized eggs directly into the uterus is called embryo transfer. Once the process gets completed, you are advised to take bed rest for 24 hours.

The success rates depend upon the type of In-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment and age of the woman. For women below 35, the success rate are around 40.7% and above 35 are between 11-30%.
If the treatment is fresh transfer, the success rate is around 56.6% and in case of frozen transfer it is 37.2%.
